Alexandra Mateescu is a researcher on the Labor Futures team at the Data & Society Research Institute. Her research focuses on worker rights and the growing ubiquity of digital workplace surveillance technologies across low-wage industries in the U.S. Her work at Data & Society has examined the role of gig platforms in domestic work, automation’s impacts on retail and agricultural sectors, and care work.
